Who knew that Palomar College has a Planetarium located  at the campus in San Marcos?  Several of us met at the Planetarium to view the “Night Sky” showing at 7pm on October 17th.  The presentation, hosted by one of the college astronomers, highlighted the celestial objects currently visible from our San Diego skies.  We  learned about many familiar constellation patterns and their mythology.   To top it off, we   learned that a meteor shower was predicted for October 20th that would be visible to us if we were willing to get up in the middle of the night!   It was a great experience and we had a good time.  The price was right, only $7 for paid admission to the show.  Telescopes were also available outside for us to gaze into our beautiful night sky.  It was a fun time and we were anxious to tell our friends and families about this hidden gem!
