Save the Date! January 10, 2026 from 9 am to 12 noon, the Soroptimists will host their 20th Annual Human Trafficking Awareness Event & Walk. Each year The Woman’s Club of Vista has a team to walk 1-1/2 mile starting at 10:30 am. Won’t you join us?
At the October 9, 2025 Anti-Human Trafficking Collaborative Meeting, the Soroptimists hosted speaker, Rebecca Womelsdorf, ESQ, Staff Attorney with San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program (SDVLP). Rebecca spoke about vacatur (clearance of criminal records so charged/convicted/arrested as a result of trafficking completely clears their record) for survivors of human trafficking versus expunge (record may appear through government background checks). SDVLP assists survivors and other programs, with Family Law being one of the biggest needs. Her staff consists of approximately 20-25 staff attorneys and hundreds of volunteers have helped 7,000 residents last year. An attorney from their office is at One Safe Place and other family practice centers.
