My theme this year reflects the image of the hummingbird – “Grace in Motion, Power In Flight,” let’s all be like lovely hummingbirds – beautiful to look at and a powerful force when we join together!
Summer is here along with the threat of wildfires. I thought it would be helpful to provide our Members with a link to the San Diego County Disaster Preparedness website. Are you ready to evacuate in 5 minutes? Let’s all be prepared!
Here is what to pack in your “go” bag.
- At least 3 days’ worth of non-perishable food and water
- Change of clothes
- Extra eyewear (glasses, contacts, etc.)
- First aid kit and sanitation supplies
- Prescription medications
- Blanket and towel
- Extra car keys, credit cards, cash, or traveler’s checks
- Copies of important documents (IDs, birth certificates, insurance info, etc.; all of these items should be in an electronic folder, but hard copies can help if you can gain access to electronic files)
- A paper map with at least two evacuation routes
- Flashlight and battery-powered radio
- Extra batteries
- Charging cord and portable power bank for phones and devices; preferably one that can be recharged by solar
- Cash

A reminder that the Registration Fee for attending both the Day and Evening meetings increases to $27 this month. Please help the club by paying for the Donor Box credit card fee when you register for your meal. Members can also pay for their meal with cash or check at the door but you must register and pick your meal online. Last, we are asking Members to consider leaving a cash tip for the wait staff who serve our meals. We appreciate the service they provide each month!
Stay connected with your club sisters over summer! Consider joining the Bylaws Committee! The Day meeting will not meet in July or August but we have many other activities for you all Summer long! I wish all of you a very safe and fun 4th of July!
