JANUARY 28TH WCV @ NIGHT

WELCOME BACK!

If you missed hearing Dr. Ana Serrano speak at the September Day meeting – you have a second chance to hear her compelling story!

The Flamingo flock has organized an exciting program for our first meeting after the holiday break. They have chosen Dr. Ana Serrano to be their speaker. Dr. Serrano, founder of Las Valientes/God’s Heart Ministry, a local nonprofit organization, will share how she finally made the decision to leave her husband after many years of domestic violence. Dr. Serrano founded Las Valientes to provide survivors of domestic violence with the resources and assistance they need to break the cycle of abuse. They offer a wide range of services from providing assistance with court and navigating the legal system to providing support groups for survivors and their families. Their mission is to empower survivors and their families to be able to move forward with their lives and find safety. Dr. Serrano has a small storefront office on East Vista Way where she and volunteer attorneys meet with clients. In September, WCV collected gently used clothing for Las Valientes as our project for GFWC’S International Day of Service focusing on Domestic Violence and we raised over $800 to support Dr. Serrano’s services to the community.

We will be back at Shadowridge Country Club – the meeting starts at 6:00pm. Come early to socialize and bring your family and friends to learn about this very worthwhile organization.
