I think we set a new record for volunteering in December!

The word is getting around that the WCV is willing to help out when the need arises. This month, several members worked for 2 hours at the North County Food Bank, we wrapped presents for kids for 3 hours at the Boys and Girls Club of Vista, and donated generously to the Veteran’s Association of North County by giving gift cards and toys for our active and retired military’s children’s Christmas parties. Members also volunteered at the Foundation For Women Warriors helping with their big holiday event.

Several members purchased wreaths for the Wreaths Across America event to honor our fallen military, attended the wreath laying ceremony and laid wreaths by the headstones of the fallen at the Fallbrook Masonic Cemetery in Fallbrook.

Last, we went out into the community to sing Christmas Carols at the Mission Marketplace Shopping Center for over an hour at the request of management and earned $250 for our club!

This month we will represent our club at the Soroptimist Human Trafficking Awareness Walk on January 10th. I hope that many of you will join us and wear your WCV T-shirts! RSVP: LizF@thewomansclubofvista.org
