The Woman’s Club of Vista is reaching out to share an incredible opportunity—the 2025 GFWC Success for Survivors Scholarship—and to ask for your help in identifying potential candidates who may qualify for this life-changing program.

This scholarship, offered by our national organization, General Federation of Women’s Clubs, provides a one-time $3,000 award to help survivors of domestic or sexual violence pursue a post-secondary education. It is designed to empower individuals to reshape their futures by gaining personal independence and employment through education.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Be a survivor of domestic or sexual violence (as defined by the CDC).
  • Be a U.S. citizen or permanent legal resident.
  • Be enrolled or planning to enroll in an accredited post-secondary or vocational institution (e.g., community colleges, technical schools, or universities).
  • Have a recommendation from a domestic violence agency, academic counselor, or social worker who can attest to the applicant’s journey and support provided.

If you know someone who meets these criteria, is willing to come forward, and would benefit from this scholarship, I kindly ask that you send your recommendation(s) to us by January 15, 2025 via email to WCVistaDonations@gmail.com.

The Woman’s Club of Vista will choose one or more individuals from the recommendations received and work with them on their application and future steps.

Thank you for your support in helping us provide hope and a brighter future for survivors. Please feel free to reach out with any questions.

Warm regards,
Sandi Leyva, VP Fundraising
