“If you can’t be a star, be a light in the window!” I came across this phrase while looking at the GFWC Women’s History Page. Our members have expressed how much enjoyment they receive from going out into our community and participating in projects “hands-on.” A recent example is our Jingle Bell Project where members decorated one family’s apartment for Christmas. In the coming months, I will be exploring volunteer opportunities where we can go out into the community to make a difference!
- North County Food Bank – sorting, packing food donations
- Foundation For Women Warriors – help stock their warehouse
- Sleep In Heavenly Peace NC – build beds for kids who don’t have a bed
- Alta Vista Botanical Gardens – adopt a garden
