My theme this year reflects the image of the hummingbird – “Grace in Motion, Power In Flight,” let’s all be like lovely hummingbirds – beautiful to look at and a powerful force when we join together!

As we say farewell to 2025, I thought I would recap all of the wonderful volunteer activities that we engaged in to support our local communities. We are definitely fulfilling our mission statement of “Enriching lives through philanthropy and volunteer service” and we are having a great time doing it!

January: we participated in the 19th Annual Walk To Stop Human Trafficking

February: we made bracelets for the upcoming Fun Walk For Autism Awareness

March: we volunteered at the North County Food Bank; we established our first laundromat kid’s book shelf for our Bubbles and Books literacy project.

April: our 2nd Annual Fun Walk For Autism Awareness raised funds for non-profits who support the autism community.

May: we put on the the Boys & Girls Club Mother’s Day jewelry event for the children;

we held our annual Donation and Scholarship Day; and we also helped make “super hero” wigs out of yarn for children who are suffering from cancer.

June: We responded to the request of the Boys and Girls Club for feminine hygiene products.

July: We served dinner to families living at Operation Hope.

August: We participated in Vista’s National Night Out and gave notes of encouragement to our first responders.

September: clothing drive for Las Valientes – $800 earned to support victims of domestic violence.

October: Socktober sock drive for Stand Up For Kids – 829 pairs donated. Volunteering at the Foundation For Women Warriors Halloween event.

November: we inscribed 185 Happy Thanksgiving cards for patients at a skilled nursing home.

December: we are holding a toy drive for the Veteran’s Association of North County, volunteering at the No County Food Bank, the Boys & Girls Club of Vista, and the Foundation For Women Warriors’ holiday event.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for all of your volunteer time and generous donations to support the causes championed by WCV and the Palomar District. We, of course, couldn’t do it without you!

I wish you a fantastic holiday season and the happiest of New Year’s celebrations!
