HELP WCV SUPPORT THE GFWC INTERNATIONAL DAY OF SERVICE
This year, GFWC’S focus is on increasing public awareness about domestic and sexual violence across the United States and internationally. WCV has chosen Las Valientes to receive our help this year. Las Valientes is a small, local non-profit organization that is committed to providing survivors of domestic violence with the resources and assistance they need to break the cycle of abuse. They offer a wide range of services including assistance with court appearances, restraining orders, supervised custody visits, financial assistance, and support groups for survivors and their families.
How can you help? Las Valientes raises funds to pay for their services by collecting and selling gently used clothing and shoes. We are asking members to go through their closets and find items to donate to help this worthy cause. Items can be brought to any WCV meeting in August or September or delivered directly to Las Valientes, 1001 E. Vista Way, Suite C, Vista, between the hours of 10:30am and 4:30pm. Please place all items in bags for delivery.
To help us keep track of our donations, we are asking our members to provide an inventory of what they have donated so that WCV can have a record of our in kind donations for tax purposes as well as for our in kind statistics that are turned in at the end of the year to GFWC. Here’s a form to use.
If you are unable to download this form, please provide your own list of items. The lists can be hand delivered at any meeting with your donations or emailed to Donna Weber, our Domestic Violence Chairman. If you have questions, contact Donna at: donnaw@thewomansclubofvista.
