September 24th Anti- Human Trafficking Meeting

Four members attended the Soroptimist Anti-Human Trafficking Collaborative meeting on September 24th. The meeting was very informative. A moving presentation was made by a young woman who has survived being trafficked as a prostitute and now is very active in the anti-trafficking movement. Katie Adams, District Attorney Investigator also spoke about being in the field with boots on the ground going after the bad guys and rescuing people caught up in human trafficking. Attenders of the meeting were also given updates on legislation currently waiting for signature on the Governor’s desk and were encouraged to call in support for bills specifically related to human trafficking.
