My theme this year reflects the image of the hummingbird – “Grace in Motion, Power In Flight,” let’s all be like lovely hummingbirds – beautiful to look at and a powerful force when we join together!

The club is off to a great start to the new year! We gained three new members – Ilyse Collett, Megan Graham, and Susie Talebi – we welcome the talents of these three lovely ladies – read about them below under membership!

Congratulations to past President Sonja Hults on being elected to be our new Palomar District President! We look forward to Sonja’s leadership and vision for the District!

Preparations for the Autism Walk are in full swing – we have already signed up several vendors and sponsors for the event and we will be making Positive Affirmation bracelets at our day meeting in February. These colorful bracelets are given to the walkers who attend our event.

Don’t forget to turn in your Nomination Forms for your favorite non-profits by February 20th to Nancy Jones – what a great opportunity to help your favorite organization receive some cash to continue helping those in our community!

We are working on a Bunco game for March or April – this should be fun! And there will be prizes!

Sonja and the Flamingo Flock have put together a special project for the Night group – decorating the outside of blank cards to give to our active military to send out for Birthdays and Mother’s Day. We need to make 200 cards – so please consider attending this month’s WCV@Night to help us reach this goal. The guest speaker will be Leisa Grajek owner of K9 Guardians. Their mission is to raise and train German Shepherds as service dogs for the purpose of providing them to Veterans that suffer from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Military Sexual trauma (MST) and other service related disabilities. Leisa has a compelling story and the dogs are wonderful!

Thank you all for being a part of this club – get involved – it’s the best way to stay connected and you will never be bored!
