Nancy B “Farmer Jones” reports a successful 17th Fall Fun Festival at Alta Vista Botanical Gardens on October 11th. This FREE event was a great opportunity for 800 visitors, vendors, and volunteers to enjoy kids’ activities, the scarecrow contest, shopping, our plant sale, music from schools, and the Amigos Lions BBQ lunch for sale. Thanks again to Donna Weber for organizing kids’ activities! And thank you to the WCV for sponsoring a scarecrow!

If you are interested in working with Kids in the Garden or have questions, please contact farmerjonesavbg@gmail.com The Woman’s Club of Vista is a Lifetime Member of the Gardens so you are welcome to visit at any time. The Gardens are open daily for your visit to see our lineup of 24 new scarecrows!

Penny Pines

Thank you for your generous contributions to support reforestation in our CA National Forests! At our October meeting we collected $10 more toward the $68 for a “plantation” of trees, to replace trees lost in fires. Bring your clinking coins and silent dollars to help us reach our goal before the end of the year.
