August 5 National Night Out: 5-7PM Civic Center. WCV will join the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department and the City of Vista for National Night Out, an annual event that promotes law enforcement-community partnership and neighborhood camaraderie. WCV will host a table, organized by Donna W. We plan to offer coloring sheets for kids and information about our club.

August 13 Third Annual Ending Street Homelessness Summit. 9-12 at UC San Diego. This county-wide solutions-driven forum will feature three expert panels focused on how California can reach functional zero for unsheltered homelessness. Confirmed panelists include: State Senator Catherine Blakespear, San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria, San Jose Mayor Matt Mahan, County Supervisor Monica Montgomery Steppe, San Diego Councilmember Stephen Whitburn, Vista City Councilmember Katie Melendez, and Dignity Moves CEO Elizabeth Funk.

End of August Foundation for Women Warriors Warehouse Support: Help veterans transition to civilian life by volunteering for this monthly request. We typically get about a week’s notice, and will send an email with dates as soon as we receive it.
