Members attending WCV’s June 11, 2025 general meeting enjoyed a swift business meeting led by new President Liz Franciscus. The new Board members for 2025-2027 were installed by Rosalia Zamora, officer of Palomar District and mentor to many. She compared each office to a characteristic of a hummingbird in light of Liz’s new theme, “Grace in Motion, Power In Flight.”

During the program, we learned from Sierra Loredo, Community Engagement Director for the Boys & Girls Club of Vista. Sierra thanked our club for its recent participation in the Mother’s Day jewelry event, where members donated jewelry for the kids to select and give to their mothers for Mother’s Day gifts. She also mentioned several past events that WCV has helped with, showing our rich history as nonprofit partners in Vista.

Sierra explained current projects at the Boys and Girls Club and listed volunteer opportunities. A few members signed up for the opportunity to read to kids aged 5-6 in the summer Kindergarten/First Grade reading program. Participants also donated feminine products for the teen girls.

After the program, members played summer bingo and raffle prize winners were announced.
