A grand time was had by all at the WCV Mother’s Day event at the Vista Boys and Girls Club. Approximately 50 kids were given the opportunity to choose 2 items of jewelry to give to their Moms for Mother’s Day. While some kids were picking out jewelry, others were making cards for their mothers with stickers and “love you Mom” notes inside. Our 10 volunteers had a fun time helping the kids choose items and listening to the comments made by the kids as they poured over the vast selection of bracelets, necklaces, earrings and pins. They appreciated us so much that they asked us to be in a group photo with all of the kids. This is the second time the WCV has put on this event at the Boys and Girls Club. It is so well received by the kids and staff at the Boys and Girls Club we will probably make it an annual event as long as the jewelry holds out!
