May is Mother’s Day, it is that time of year that we reflect and gather with our families to enjoy our families. It is time for me to say goodbye. This is my 4th year as WCV President and 2nd year as a co-president. I cannot tell you what a privilege it is to be your President. It has been years filled with joy and inspiration. Thank you for allowing me to serve and thank you for becoming my club family. Liz has worked very hard to get to her Presidency. I am thrilled and excited to see what she does. Welcome Liz.

WCV@Night

WCV@Night is growing. This past month we had around 30 women attend. We are staying at the Shadowridge Country Club so that we can have the facilities we need to put on a great meeting. The staff is amazing and the location is perfect.

We are having to raise the price for the food. Sigh. Everyone is raising their prices. Let’s not focus on the STUFF that is creating this price increase. The good news is that Shadowridge Country Club LOVES us. We are negotiating the best price possible. We are having SO MUCH FUN and BEING OF SERVICE it would be a shame not to have our facility. The best part of this building is that it is ADA compliant and it makes it so everyone can attend without difficulty.

MAY 28, 2025 – This month our Speaker is George Hernandez from the Sheriff’s Department. He was at the Autism Walk and he presented the Blue Envelope Program. While I was talking to him and asking him to come and speak he mentioned there are 3 programs he would like to bring to our members; One. The Blue Envelope. This is for families of Autism. Two. Dementia Program. This program is for caregivers of individuals that need care. Three. Living Alone. If you live alone and are of a certain age. The sheriff’s department provides services to help.

The second hour will be a Special Needs Teacher Appreciation Gifts. We have a plastic apple and a bath bomb for 50 teachers in the city of Vista. We need YOUR help. We are collecting 5 dollar gift cards for the gifts. We need one for each Special Needs Teacher and Aide. Please find the time to ask your family, friends and neighbors to donate to our teachers. If you cannot be there and would like to participate, we would LOVE that, email Nancy B Jones and let her know how much you are donating and we will be happy to purchase the cards and put them in the gifts for these very deserving teachers.

Thank you.
