The Woman’s Club of Vista meeting was held on March 12, 2025, a rainy day possibly keeping some members away. We had a little fun with an M & M candy mixer where we got to know a little more about each other. It was a good meeting with lots of announcements about up-and-coming events such as the Autism Walk on April 6th, Earth Day Festival on April 19th, Donation Day on May 14th and so much more. For Women’s History Month Liz shared a story with us about an amazing woman Jane Cunningham Croly (pen named Jennie June) a British-born American author and journalist from 1890. GFWC traces its roots back to her. She was an accomplished New York newspaper woman who held her own in a male dominated arena. Also, Sienna T., a junior in High School spoke to us about her experience at the HOBY Youth Leadership Seminar that the Club helped her financially to attend. She was so thankful to the club as it made such an impact on her and others that attended. It gave her motivation and tools to create real change in the community for helping the homeless and advocate for community improvements. There are a couple of board positions still open and lots of places to volunteer. Liz organized the agenda and ran the entire meeting for the first time and did a great job.
