The inaugural meeting of the WCV Works Club – now renamed WCV Crafts – was held January 11 at Cindi’s charming home, which was still festive for the Holiday Season. Those attending were Cindi, the Hostess with the Mostest; Sonja, who brought fleece and French pastries; Silvia, who brought her always-bubbly self and more fleece; Tenaya, who brought her usual curiosity, and Judy, who brought a smile and willingness to work.

After snacking and caffeinated beverages, the group got down to work. Cindi has the most perfect table for crafting! Sonja tried both knitting and crochet, Cindi worked on a needlepoint Victorian house. The others started turning fleece into baby blankets for Vista Community Clinic and WCV’s ongoing Covers of Love project. There was some excitement with firemen, but that’s a whole other story.

Be sure to attend the next meeting of WCV Crafts on February 15 and learn the answers to these burning questions:

  • Will we ever turn all that fleece into blankets?
  • Will Cindi run out of wall space and have to give up needlepoint houses?
  • Will Sonja decide between knitting and crochet or try something else?
  • Will Silvia and Judy come to blows over the closest parking spot?

Bring a snack to share and a craft you are working on. This is all about friendship and getting out crafting projects done!
