I have wonderful childhood memories of Christmases growing up in Pasadena, but for the past 10 years I have been spending my Christmases in the country with my eldest daughter and her family who live in Prescott, Arizona. The beauty and stillness of the high desert is so peaceful and the sky is so clear you can see Santa crossing the heavens. There is the hint of snow on the way and it’s not unusual to see deer and antelope playing, cattle on the range and horses quietly grazing. I look forward to unwinding there with my family every year.
Wreaths Across America Wreath Laying Ceremony – December 14th
Please join us for the wreath laying ceremony at the Fallbrook Masonic Cemetery on December 14th at 9am. The Palomar District Federation CFWC, is proud to be a 2024 sponsor of Wreaths Across America. Club members from throughout our district will be volunteering to lay wreaths on the graves of our fallen veterans at the Fallbrook Masonic Cemetery. If you wish to attend this event, please contact me at 760-310-1577 or email me at Lizfranciscus@gmail.com. I plan to be at the cemetery by 8:45am. The wreath laying ceremony begins at 9 o’clock. I hope that many of you will consider joining us at the cemetery. I have heard that it is quite moving and well worth bringing your family members too. Thank you to those members who donated a total of $238 to purchase 14 wreaths. (12 from WCV and 2 from the Woman’s Club of Carlsbad who purchased through our club).
Country Christmas Show – December 13th, 7:30pm
We currently have 24 members and guests with reserved seats for the show. Any cancellations must be made by December 6th or you will be charged for the ticket. Please let me know ASAP if there are any changes in who will be attending the show. I will be sending out an email to those who have reserved seats and who still need to pay me for their ticket(s). If you would like to attend the show, there may still be seats available. I have had one cancellation so far. I know its going to be a fun event and may even become a holiday tradition for our club!
I want to thank all of our members for their strong commitment to our club over the past year. We have added an additional 15 members since January and our club continues to grow. We couldn’t do it without you! We have lots of great events in December and I hope that you will join us as we close out a very successful year!
