Vista has its very own Botanical Gardens. It may not have the corpse flower, but it does have 16 acres of gardens with over a dozen different landscapes on rolling hills within Brengle Terrace Park. AVBG knows how to have fun; both AVBG and WCV plan to have a lot of it on Saturday, October 12 at AVBG’s Fall Fun Festival.
Fall Fun Festival has it all – a scarecrow contest, a kid’s area, beautiful walking trails, dozens of vendor tables, music and dance, door prizes, and BBQ lunch. You can’t beat the price – it’s free to attend the festival, but bring your pocketbook to support the vendors, enter the scarecrow contest, or purchase food and drinks.
Some of the vendor items you might want to take home include plants and seeds, planters, homemade crafts just in time for the holidays, children’s clothing, soaps and body products, books, jewelry, and arts. Food available include fruits and vegetables, caramel apples, cakes, cookies, snow cones, and BBQ with all the fixings.
Many vendors will be there to help educate Vista residents on things like gardening advice, water processing, gutters, and educational opportunities for kids. There will also be vendors offering astrology readings and angel cards.
WCV and AVBG go way back in partnership. WCV members Naomi Stein and Farmer Jones donate significant volunteer time at the Gardens year-round. WCV member Farmer Jones conducts Kids in the Garden each month with the help of WCV member Donna Weber.
At the 2024 Fall Fun Festival, WCV member Farmer Jones is this year’s Event Chair. WCV Member Donna Weber will be heading up the children’s activities at the Fall Fun Festival, and WCV member Sandi Leyva will host the WCV membership table. Come out and say Hi to all of us.
