Donation Recipients of Donation Day 2026

In 2026, WCV donated $18,220 to the following 23 groups. It was our pleasure to donate to the organizations that help improve lives here in our North County and San Diego County communities!

Alabaster Jar Project is a San Diego-based nonprofit dedicated to restoring and empowering survivors of human trafficking through safe housing, trauma‑informed care, and long‑term support services. This year’s donation will go directly toward supporting the essential case management provided to each survivor in our care. Volunteers welcome. alabasterjarproject.org

Alta Vista Botanical Gardens harmonizes people, nature, and art across a stunning 14-acre expanse nestled atop a hill within Brengle Terrace Park in Vista. Open daily to the public, this year’s contribution from The Woman’s Club of Vista will be used to upgrade irrigation and stabilize paths to improve visitor safety. Autism Health Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing research and improving the health and quality of life for individuals with autism and related neurological conditions by providing education, resources, and support for families, working to bridge the gap between scientific research, integrative health, and community care. Bella Mente Montessori Academy is a public charter school in Vista providing a hands-on Montessori education for grades TK–8. This year’s donation will help fund our annual field trip for 6th grade scholars to Camp Cuyamaca, a five-day, four-night camp experience allowing them to explore science and nature through hands-on learning while building lifelong memories with friends. Boys & Girls Club of Vista empowers youth ages 5–18 through out-of-school programs and athletics, providing safe, transformative experiences that prepare every Club kid to graduate high school with a clear plan for college or a career, lead healthy lives, and make a meaningful impact in their community. These funds will support our out-of-school-time Nutrition Program as increasing numbers of youth and families face limited access to healthy, nutritious food. Canine Companions is a national nonprofit that exists to enhance the lives of people with disabilities by providing expertly trained service dogs and ongoing support to ensure quality partnerships, all at no cost to the recipient. Convicted 4 Christ Ministries is a North County San Diego–based nonprofit serving individuals experiencing homelessness through street outreach, shower services, wound care, food distribution, and placement into shelters, treatment, and long-term programs. This year’s donation will help fund essential supplies and operations for our weekly outreach efforts, including direct services that meet immediate needs while building relationships and trust. Foundation for Women Warriors is a 104-year-old nonprofit organization dedicated to honoring and empowering women veterans to enhance their personal and economic well-being and help them transition to civilian life.  This donation supports emergency services programs. Gently Hugged’s mission is to provide needy newborns with clothing, blankets and essentials for the first year of life. Volunteers collect donated 0-12 month clothing, pack the clothing into bags with health and safety information and a children’s book; we donate 70-80 bags a month. This donation will help purchase materials for volunteers to knit, crochet and sew beautiful baby clothing, quilts and blankets. Volunteer opportunities available. gentlyhugged.org

Our Girl Scout Troop 1205 has 12 girls who attend Oceanside Elementary schools. Our troop focuses on building confidence and independence, and creating opportunities to experience our community. This donation will fund a service project that will support the girls earning their Bronze Awards, working with an organization that supports local kids who are experiencing food insecurity. We look for ways to help our girls engage with the world around them and welcome support from organizations or individuals.

K9 Guardians Our mission is to raise and train German Shepherds as service dogs and provide them to Veterans that suffer from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Military Sexual trauma (MST) and other service-related disabilitiesk9guardians.org

North San Diego County Anti-Human Trafficking Collaborative Soroptimist International of Vista & North County Inland is part of an international organization comprised of 66,000 members in 118 countries worldwide.  Our mission to help educate women and girls includes anti-human trafficking awareness. Your donation will be used to obtain new hand-held signs and help cover fees for venues and banners. Olivenhain Farms at the Heritage Ranch is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide hands-on education, wellness, and outdoor screen-free experiences that strengthen connection, confidence, and community – especially for youth. This donation will support our free Rising Ranchers program, an initiative that gives local tweens and teens the opportunity to volunteer, develop leadership skills, care for animals, and mentor younger children while building responsibility and pride in their community. Volunteers welcome olivenhainfarms.com

Operation HOPE North County provides safe shelter, trauma-informed care, and comprehensive wraparound services to families with children and single women experiencing homelessness in North San Diego County. Through our Steps to Independence Program, participants receive emergency shelter, basic needs, intensive case management, life-skills education, employment support, and children’s services designed to promote stability and long-term self-sufficiency. This donation will help provide housing, meals, case management, youth educational support, and pathways to permanent housing for families working toward independence. Volunteers welcome. operationhopeshelter.org

Since 2019 Sallie A Hunt Foundation has focused on removing barriers that discourage regular school attendance, primarily by providing shoes to students who need them. Since the start of the 2025-2026 school year, we have purchased 500 pairs of shoes for students; this year’s donation will continue that activity. Website volunteer: Sallieahuntfoundation.org

The San Diego Center for the Blind provides vision rehabilitation training and counseling for adults who are losing or have lost their vision.  This donation will provide food and kitchen aids for the Blind in our “cooking without looking” class. Volunteers, Spanish speakers needed too. sdcb.org

Shades of Pink Foundation California provides immediate financial assistance to applicants who are experiencing financial distress due to a breast cancer diagnosis and treatment.   All applicants are referred from health care professionals at the various cancer treatment centers and hospitals throughout San Diego. Vista Community Clinic VCC has 13 locations providing affordable, high-quality health care to more than 70,000 community residents each year.  This year’s donation will be used to support the Reach Out & Read program, ensuring that low-income families provide their children with books and instill an early love of reading.  VCC welcomes volunteer projects of handmade baby items to support new moms.  vcc.org

The Autism Society of San Diego, currently celebrating 60 years of service to the San Diego autism community, connects people to the resources they need through education, advocacy, support, information, referral, and community programming. Beacons, Inc. provides vocational, recreational, and social activities and services to adults with developmental disabilities and their support teams to improve access to employment, the community, and social connections. This donation will enhance our social recreation program, Club Beacons – themed social events for intellectually disabled adults, with games, equipment, decor and craft supplies to make our events more impactful and build connections. Donation Day at Alta Vista Botanical GardensBlissful Seeds – planting the seeds of blissful Lives for adults with autism and other developmental disabilities through employment and entrepreneurship. Hope on the Hard Road, Inc. is a local San Diego based nonprofit that serves individuals with disabilities and their families. We are dedicated to helping bring connection, encouragement and hope by providing families with educational resources and community based supports. Spellers Freedom Foundation is a nonprofit dedicated to expanding communication access and advocacy for nonspeakers with autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, or related conditions, to access spelling and typing-based methods to express themselves. This gift will support scholarship programs for communication training for families and emerging practitioners so nonspeaking individuals can access the life-changing Spellers Method. TERI Campus of Life For 46 years, the Training, Education & Resource Institute (TERI) has been delivering best‑practice, evidence‑based services to children, adults and seniors with mild to severe intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout the region.
