WCV is involved in numerous projects that benefit children.

Fun Walk for Autism Awareness and Acceptance

WCV is the primary host of this large fundraiser and community event held at Vista’s Civic Center. Exhibitors, sponsors, and walkers donate money which is in turn donated to autism-related nonprofits. Over 150 walkers participated in the April 2025 event.

Boys & Girls Club of Vista

In June 2025, Sierra Loredo spoke to our group about the summer projects going on at the Boys and Girls Club. Club members donated feminine hygiene products for the teen girls. A few club members signed up for the K/1 summer reading program. In May, jewelry donations from WCV members allowed the kids to select a Mother’s Day present.

Covers of Love

This yearlong project has members sewing blankets for newborns at the Vista Community Clinic. VCC also received a generous donation from WCV on Donation Day 2025.

Magic Yarn

WCV members volunteered their time to make wigs for children battling cancer.

Donation Day Recipients

In 2025, WCV donated money to the following nonprofits that support children: Gently Hugged, New Haven Youth and Family Services, Inc., Just in Time for Foster Youth, Sleep in Heavenly Peace, and Moonlight Cultural Foundation.

In 2025-2026, WCV is planning a Toys for Tots collection at Christmastime.
