Ready to get involved? There are plenty of options for you to use your skills at WCV or learn brand new ones!
Getting Started – Easy General Meeting Opportunities
Greeter and Raffle Ticket Seller for the Day meetings: Greet members and guests when they arrive at the meeting. Also sell raffle tickets for an opportunity basket ($25 value). The money raised supports the WCV events. It’s a great way to get to know your fellow club members!
Inspiration – At each meeting, a member presents an inspiration. it could a be a story, poem, saying or just about anything designed to lift us all up.
Opportunity Basket – Donate an opportunity gift basket ($25 value) to be raffled off. These baskets usually contain anything from wine, chocolate, and cheese to pampering items such as bath products and candles.

Easy Evening Meeting Opportunities
Scribe – Write up a few sentences that summarize the event. These will be posted on the blog and in the newsletter. Calling all aspiring novelists!
Photographer – At each meeting, take a few pictures on your cell phone. We’ll use these in the newsletter and on the blog.
Greeter – Check-in registrants using a spreadsheet provided to you. Collect checks and cash for people who have not paid. Hand out dinner slips to registrants. Being a greeter is a great way to meet members and guests.
Guest Buddy – Sit by a first-time guest. Answer questions. Introduce them to other members. Make them feel welcome.

Behind the Scenes
Be part of the essential teams that literally hold the entire club together!
General Accounting – Open – Code the accounting entries in Xero bookkeeping system, produce reports, assist with the budget process, and help the Board make good decisions based on accurate financial data. Training available; double-entry bookkeeping system experience preferred.
Event Accounting & Reporting – Open – Reconcile the cash, checks, and credit card payments that come in for each paid event (2 per month) and produce a Profit and Loss report per event. Training available.
Publicity – Open – This area includes sending press releases to reporters and updating local public calendars for our events.
Newsletter – Open – Learn new skills and help with the newsletter and other club communications in Constant Contact. Training available!
Website and Social Media – Sandi Leyva, Chairman – Learn new skills and be a part of a fun team that spreads the word about our wonderful club.

Committee Opportunities
Committees include:
Fun Walk for Autism Event – Donna DiMambro, Chairman – Help with our biggest fundraiser of the year. The next event is April 12, 2026, and there’s a lot to do before then!
Donation Day – Jessica Hamdi, Chairman – Assist in coordinating our annual celebration of awarding donations and scholarships to worthy nonprofits and students. The 2025 date is May 14.
Holiday Party – Help to plan holiday parties.
Scholarship – Open – Work with high school counselors, students, and school employees to distribute scholarships.
Health and Wellness – Raschel A. Kloos, Chairman – The Health and Wellness Community Service Program focuses on the human body, mind and spirit. This term we will be exploring various opportunities for awareness and advancement of each of these vital areas.
Arts & Culture – Sheila Mata, Chairman – The Arts and Culture Committee keeps members informed about neighborhood art and theater shows as well as plans outings.
Covers of Love – Nancy Ellis, Chairman – Calling all seamstresses and people who want to learn! The Woman’s Club supports the Vista Community Clinic by donating handmade fleece baby blankets and crocheted hats to new mothers of babies who visit the clinic for newborn care and classes. Nancy is responsible for making the majority of the items we donate. She is happy to teach our members how to make the fleece blankets with tied fringe which takes about an hour. The new moms at Vista Community Clinic love receiving them!
Civic Engagement – Liz Franciscus, Chairman – Includes many projects such as Vials for Life, Food Bank, K-9 Guardian, Toys for Tots, Boys and Girls Club Project, and Vista Chamber of Commerce
Domestic & Sexual Violence Awareness & Prevention – Donna Weber, Chairman – Represent WCV at various events supporting the education and awareness of domestic violence and human trafficking.
Environment – Open – Inform the club about community events or projects that affect our environment, preserve resources, protest wildlife, beautify our communities and enjoy nature. Organize a group activity (nature or beach walk) or service project that focuses on the environment such as cleaning the beach or trail, helping at Alta Vista Botanical Gardens. Find an expert or organization to speak to our club about how we can help our environment.
Penny Pines – Tenaya Becker, Chairman – The WCV will be collecting for Penny Pines at our meetings and selected events. Bring your clattering coins and silent $$ to donate at every meeting. Every $68 we donate buys a plantation of trees for reforestation after wildfires!
Education & Libraries – Kati Mendoza, Chairman – This group is spearheading our new Bubbles and Books literacy program, where we place children’s books in English and Spanish at laundromats around Vista and North County.
