Our WCV Walks ladies enjoyed their guided tour!
From Kathy: The walk on Saturday the 24th of January was attended by 4 ladies, a small but enthusiastic group. We were led by Nancy Jones, whose knowledge of plants and the origins of Alta Vista is unsurpassable. We learned so much about how the gardens were designed and built. Garden areas are maintained by different volunteer groups. Plants, sculptures, art, musical instruments and fun facts are a part of each small garden. It was like walking through a labyrinth of many spaces that all flowed together – unique, creative and peaceful. A wonderful hidden gem within Brengle Terrace Park. Nancy reminded us that as members of the Woman’s Club we could visit the Gardens anytime for no charge. I highly recommend visiting there and experiencing one of the most beautiful places in Vista. Thank you Nancy for an amazing and memorable day.
Linda shared: I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the gardens through your eyes. A big thanks for taking us on your special tour!
Sheila agreed: Alta Vista Botanical Gardens is a gem, in the middle of Vista. I enjoyed the leisurely pace, along with the background of the development of the various habitats, within the garden itself. I was surprised to learn that there’s a tenant on the property, and greatly enjoyed Nancy Jones’ history lesson re: the gardens and botanical knowledge.
