SUMMARY:February 2025 Monthly Evening Meeting
DESCRIPTION:In February\, we’ll support our primary fundraiser of the year\, the Second Annual Vista Fun Walk for Autism Awareness and Acceptance\, by creating Swift bracelets for the walkers. \nWe’ll also be in our new home at Shadowridge Golf Club. You will get to choose from three dinner entrees\, and special dietary needs will be honored. The bar will also be available for those of you who would like a cocktail with dinner. \nThe evening begins at 6PM and includes a short club meeting\, the program with bracelet materials included\, your meal\, and informal networking. Cost is $25\, and RSVPs are required by February 19\, 2025. Online advance payments are required for both guests and members.  \nAbout Swift Bracelets \nA Swift bracelet is a type of friendship bracelet that is typically made of beads using a variety of colors and spelling out different words and catchphrases. \nIt’s named after Taylor Swift because Swifties swapped bracelets during the Eras tour. While the bracelets spelled out song lyrics\, titles\, or fandom inside jokes\, ours will promote autism awareness\, encourage neurodiversity\, and contain uplifting phrases for the walkers. \nAbout the Second Annual Vista Fun Walk for Autism Awareness and Acceptance \nThe Woman’s Club of Vista (WCV) is hosting the Second Annual Vista Fun Walk for Autism Awareness and Acceptance on April 6\, 2025 from 11AM to 3PM at the Vista Civic Center. It’s the biggest fundraiser of the year for WCV and all proceeds go to Vista nonprofits and nonprofit organizations that support autism research\, awareness\, and acceptance. \nIn 2024\, we partnered with The Autism Society of San Diego\, the Shine Project Foundation\, Moonlight Youth Theater and Blissful Seeds\, along with several for-profit companies to bring the First Annual Fun Walk for Autism Awareness and Acceptance to Vista\, CA. We hope you’ll join us in 2025 as an exhibitor\, sponsor\, or walker! \nVisit our special autism website for more information and to sign up as an exhibitor\, sponsor\, or walker. \nhttps://vistawalkforautism.org/ \n  \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Payment Options\n \n Pay by Credit Card via DonorBox\n \n Pay by PayPal\, Venmo\, or Credit Card via PayPal\n \n Members Only - Bring Check or Exact Cash to Meeting and Make Your Dinner Selection Now

SUMMARY:February 2025 Book Club
DESCRIPTION:Our February book is Girl in Disguise by Greer MacAllister\, and is set in the 1850s and 1860s that tells the story of Kate Warne\, the real-life first female detective hired by the Pinkerton Agency in Chicago. \nMilitary Service project: We are planning a book project to collect paperback mysteries and general interest books (No romance or religion/war or hardback) for service people. \nLiteracy project: We are also doing research for the possibility of small library of free books to be used in public areas (laundromats) and other neighborhood areas. \nGoal: Please start gathering up books you wish to donate for our projects. We will have more information at the meeting. \nQuestions? So many books\, so little time. What to expect? By joining a book club\, we provide several benefits including: meeting new people\, stimulating critical thinking\, expanding your knowledge by exploring different themes and perspectives\, improving communication skills\, fostering a sense of community\, and creating accountability for reading regularly. Our Vista Womens Book Club provides a social space to delve deeper into literatureand engage with ideas beyond just reading a book. We discuss the book and our book leader has structured questions for us. We often find hidden topics in the book for discussion. \nJoin us at the Book club and you can contact Susan D. if you have questions.

SUMMARY:January 2025 Monthly Evening Meeting
DESCRIPTION:In January\, our program will celebrate art with watercolors where we’ll be guided by Kene Lohmann from the Escondido Art Association to create our very own watercolor paintings. \nWe’ll also be in our new home at Shadowridge Golf Club. The bar will also be available for those of you who would like a cocktail with dinner. \nThe evening begins at 6PM and includes a short club meeting\, the program with paint materials included\, your meal\, and informal networking. RSVP by clicking one of the blue boxes to the right on this page.  \nAbout the Speaker: \nBorn and raised in North San Diego County\, Kene Lohmann grew up painting since early childhood\, developing his passion for watercolor. He was privileged to study under noted San Diego County water colorist\, Thelma Speed Houston. \nKene later spent a number of years in Hawaii\, where he continued to study\, paint and exhibit his works. His colorful landscapes invite the viewer into the painting for a visual escape. \nHis love of nature and the world around us is captured in his works that dazzle the eye with their intense color palette. “I strive for that emotional reaction connecting the viewer to my work\,” states the artist. \nKene’s watercolors are treasured in many private collections throughout the United States and Europe. His watercolors have earned numerous awards in juried shows and exhibitions. \n  \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Payment Options\n \n Pay by Credit Card via DonorBox\n \n Pay by PayPal\, Venmo\, or Credit Card via PayPal
